RESEARCH

IMPA funds its research entirely from its own resources. No national funds, no industry sponsorship, no third-party interests — with a research agenda that follows scientific and clinical criteria alone.

Research Focus

Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

Dissociative Identity Disorder is considered one of the most frequently misdiagnosed psychiatric conditions. IMPA dedicates itself to its scientific examination, diagnosis and treatment.

O-KAP method — under development

IMPA is developing the O-KAP method as an innovative approach to panic attacks and anxiety disorders. The project is currently in the development phase. Further information will be published once scientific results become available.

Full Independence
  • Privately funded — no national funds
  • Third-party economic interests excluded
  • Fully autonomous research agenda
Research Team

Research is led by licensed physicians with a research interest in psychiatry and haematology/oncology.

Possible Signs of DID

Amnesia

whether retrograde or anterograde.

Memory gaps

in the past or a vague sense of experienced events.

Estrangement from self

ego-dystonia of one's own actions — a sense of foreignness towards oneself.

Hyperarousal

nervousness, persistent tension, restlessness, repetitive thoughts.

Third-party reports

about experienced events or statements of which there is no memory.

Inner parts / facets

voices engaged in a loud internal dialogue with one another.

Emotional fluctuations

intense, sometimes several times throughout the day.

Psychosomatic symptoms

physical complaints without identifiable organic cause.

This list is for guidance only and does not replace a medical diagnosis. If in doubt, we recommend a personal consultation.

Research Participation

Participants sought — take part in our DID research.

Do you believe you may be affected by Dissociative Identity Disorder, or have you received an incorrect diagnosis? IMPA is looking for participants for its independent research. All information is treated in strict confidence.
